ABSTRACT
This ‘KoFlux 2004 Synthesis’ special issue is comprised primarily of papers presented at the KoFlux joint workshop on “Progress Report on CarboKorea and HydroKorea research projects” held at Yonsei University in Seoul, Korea. The two projects are dedicated to understanding and nowcasting the fluxes of water and carbon in key ecosystems in Korean. Carbon and water cycles are the backbone of global biogeochemical cycles which lie at the intellectual core of the science of climate change protocols. The present volume forms a collection of thirteen papers ranging from reviews on fundamental theory and measurement to ecohydrology modeling and satellite applications associated with water and carbon cycles in agricultural and forest ecosystems in Korea.
